2015 – Some Of The Best

2015 - Some Of The BestAfter writing over 350 Blog posts this past year, the thought occurred to me that more than likely each article could potentially have one solid nugget or quote that stood out. Out of curiosity, I went back and began the process of mining them.

Here are some of the best lines from many of the articles from this past year and as a courtesy, each line is also a hot-link to the associated article. Enjoy!

Decide to choose being happy over being right and see what positive results you get just from letting go.

When you look at this year ahead of you, plan to go all out. Commit to push yourself to the next level in your career, your relationships, your business, your health, and in all areas of your life.

If you are always looking outside of yourself at circumstances and situations to become more than what you already are, then you are not in the present and appreciating what you already have.

Our pasts are fictitious. The past is nothing but a story. It is a series of events that we witness and create our own narrative around.

If you don’t recognize what you have accomplished in life, even the small things, then you will never feel like you are getting anywhere or advancing in life. You will not feel competent or anymore capable today than you did yesterday.

Never the let the potential pain of change prevent you from doing whatever it is that you need to do. Change and growth can be painful, but it’s that way for you to grow and to evolve.

Life is going to happen, and things are going to happen regardless of if you take chances or not. There will complications, there will be chaos, and there will be drama, and since these things are going to occur regardless, you might as well go after what you want in life, full-tilt.

When you are following your dreams and your passions, more often than not there are no trail markings or signs along the way. You must trust your inner compass, your intuition, and your own personal genius to find the way.

Don’t focus on home runs like getting that one big client or win. Focus on base hits. Don’t worry about the touchdown, worry about the first down. Little wins… focus on the little wins.

Don’t fear chaos in your life, but instead embrace, welcome, and even be grateful for it. The chaos that you have in your life only proves that you are growing. Chaos requires flexibility and adaptation to survive.

There is not a tool, method, process, or therapy under the sun that can help move you in any direction unless you have a clear idea of what it is that you want and the results you want to see for yourself.

It’s how we handle our setbacks and failures that truly define us as and determine how successful we will be in the future.

Every action that you take does one of two things. Your actions move you in the direction that you want to go in life or they lead you away from where you want to go.

Worry less about what other people think of you because they are not living your life, you are.

Chances are if you are looking at a major change, you are already living in the worst-case scenario. And if that is the case, then what are you waiting for?

Success is rarely an accident. It requires that you face your fears and master them.

When you get tired and don’t feel like you are winning, stop and think about what is exactly going on in the moment. Whatever are you up against, give yourself credit for still being in the fight.

Forget perfection in life. Be brave, be courageous, and be imperfect.

It is the hard days that make you stronger, not the easy ones.

Self-acceptance is never the destination; rather it is your stepping off point on your journey for personal growth and betterment.

Complacency is born from fear. Fear of failure, fear of things that are new, and even the fear of not knowing how even to proceed.

It is not enough to know what your purpose in life is; you must also strive to live and to fulfill it.

Just as you might have a certain hair color or eye color, the people you lose in life also become a defining characteristic that you will carry with you for the rest of your days.

Don’t focus on your excuses… don’t focus on being stuck, focus on moving forward instead. Remember, you are never stuck… You can only feel stuck and that is always YOUR choice.

Others can inspire you but only you can motivate yourself. Remember that the next time you feel that you might need a push.

This list only represents some of the best… I only made though half of the year going back through everything that I have written. Trust me there is a lot more where this came from!
