5 Ways To Recharge Your Life

In right amounts, a little boredom is not a bad thing. We all need time to rest, recollect ourselves, and sometimes being a little bored is what is called for. But who wants to be bored all of the time, and even worse, become a boring person?

Maybe you are feeling a little bored, somewhat stale and stagnant, and want to change that? If that is the case, here are 5 ways to recharge your life and get yourself motoring in the right direction again:

  1. Commit to learning something new. – When you stop learning, you stop growing and that definitely leads to a lack of energy and boredom. When you step out outside of your comfort zone and “what you know” – you are then open to learning new ideas, concepts, and ways of doing things. The excitement that you get from nurturing your personal growth is a sure-fire way to add a new charge and energy to your life.
  2. Anticipate life’s changes as positives, not negatives. – Change is going to happen and nothing takes away your energy faster than resisting the tide of life. Pushing back against change is not only energy wasting but it also holds you stuck to where you are no longer meant to be. When you view “the unfolding of life” as it happens as a positive and choose to go with it instead of fighting it, you will not only lose less energy in the process but you will be energized by the excitement and anticipation of it all. Life is meant to be lived, not fought.
  3. Give yourself some credit. – Too often we get so caught up in the “doing” of stuff everyday, day after day, that we forget to take a minute to look back to see just how far we have come. While focusing on what you are doing and what is immediately in front of you is a good thing, it can also be monotonous, boring, and energy draining. Inventory your successes, look back at all you have achieved and allow that to re-inspire you to keep moving forward.
  4. Start blazing your own path! – Living in a rut is energy draining especially if it isn’t even YOUR rut that you are stuck in. Instead of living your life doing what you believe others want you to do, or what you believe you should be doing based on other people’s expectations, start blazing your own path. Make your life YOUR adventure and your adventure alone and you will rediscover a new energy and excitement that will truly recharge your life.
  5. Start giving to others. – It’s not what we get in this life that makes it worth living and excites us, it’s what we give of ourselves freely without expecting any payback. If you want to feel the energy of life, if it has been missing for you, start looking for opportunities to help and to give to others. It’s a win-win. As an old Chinese proverb says,“If you want happiness for an hour, take a nap. If you want happiness for a day, go fishing. If you want happiness for a year, inherit a fortune. If you want happiness for a lifetime, help somebody.”

We don’t always get to stop along the way to pause and recharge. Sometimes we have to “reboot on the fly” and re-energize ourselves while we are still on the go. If you are at that point where you need to recharge your life, hopefully the five tips will help.
