Challenges Are The Doorways To Opportunities

I have been working with another start-up company in a part-time capacity and it has been both fun and rewarding. However, as part of building the infrastructure for that company I am now in the position to expand my knowledge and skill sets in a way that I would have never imagined.

The long and short of it is that to fulfill my responsibilities, I now have to get a Contractor’s License with the State of Colorado, and to do that I need to study and take an exam along with some other things.

Now, I have to admit, as a professional in the “helping field” and building my coaching business around helping people, having to get a contractor’s license is something that I never envisioned for myself. Actually, it isn’t anything that I envisioned for myself in any part of my life ever… but here I am.

It won’t be easy but I can do it. However, challenges are the doorways to opportunities and by taking on this challenge I will assuredly be open and available to more opportunities in the future; both with my company Tri Peaks Life Coaching and the start-up that I am working with.

And to be honest, I am more excited than concerned. I am on a flight right now to Chicago for two days of meetings and already I am fired up to get back and to get this process underway. Which trust me, was not my initial reaction a few hours ago when we figured out exactly “who” was doing “what.” At first, I was scared, shocked, and intimidated, but now seeing the big picture, I am inspired.

Many of life’s challenges come at us completely unexpected and when they do, they often loom large and seem intimidating at first. But if you can remember that life’s challenges are the doorways to opportunities, it will give you a new and empowering perspective on things.

They say that “luck” is when opportunity and preparation come together or that we make our own luck in life, but in my experience, opportunity comes along less frequently than luck ever does. So the next time life throws a challenge at you from out of the blue… take a moment and see what opportunities may lie on the other side.

How many challenges have come at you in life that opened doors of opportunity for you?
