Collection Of Thoughts – Part III More Of The Best

Not to toot my own horn but sometimes after I write an article and proof try to proof it, I will read something and say to myself, “wow… I really wrote that!” For me it is a pretty cool part of the entire writing process, exactly what is produced by one single thought or theme and in looking at the entire body of works there is a significant collection of thoughts that I’ve manged to come up with which is pretty neat.

All in all they add up to a pretty decent collection of thoughts and snippets that I hope educates, entertains, and hopefully inspires anyone who reads them. At a minimum, at least inspire the reader to new perspectives that might have never been considered before.

So without further ado, here is a new collection of thoughts that follow up on 2015 – Some Of The Best, and More Of The Best – Continued.  Each line is also a hot-link to the associated article and I hope that you enjoy them!

Keep this in mind… you always have the ability to change the results that you experience in life. Change your thought, change your emotion, change you action or what you do or say, and your results will change as well. From thought to result, you control the outcome always.

Expect great things for your life such as your health, finances, and personal growth. Raise your expectations, expect greatness and you increase your odds of finding and experiencing it. And just as you expect great things, make sure that you attempt great things.

Ground zero can be an awesome place to start from if you allow to be so.

Simplify your life… subtract and grow. Are there things that you could let go of today that are holding you back? If you were to let them all go, what would your life look like in a week, a year, or five years down the road? Do you really want to be hauling all of this “stuff” around for the next decade or more?

The consequences of making a bad decision with good intentions and motives are rarely as damaging or harmful as making no decision at all.

There comes a time when you have to stop making other people responsible for YOUR happiness! Trust me… nobody wants THAT job, and if they do they are either addicted to failure or just want to make themselves miserable trying to do the impossible.

You can reach every goal in life and still be a failure, or you can fail at every goal and be the greatest success ever. It isn’t if you get “the stuff” or not that matters, but what you gain along the way that is the most important.

I always say that the moments when you struggle the most, where you are exerting the most effort and doing your hardest to do anything is when you are truly at your strongest. However, many of us think the opposite – and since the struggle is hard, we may feel weak or believe we are failing which is not exactly accurate.

Believe that what you do makes a difference and it will! Believe you are needed and significant and you will be. Try to reach out and make a difference in the lives of those who need it the most and I guarantee that you will positively affect those lives. Or as I am fond of saying all of the time… “Be part of the world’s solutions… not part of the world’s problems!”

Choose your thoughts and actions based on what is right rather than what is in it for you or what is convenient for you. Everyone makes mistakes from time to time, but a person with integrity will always own up to them. Be that person… have integrity. It might not always be easy but it will always be right.

If you want to feel the energy of life, if it has been missing for you, start looking for opportunities to help and to give to others. It’s a win-win. As an old Chinese proverb says, “If you want happiness for an hour, take a nap. If you want happiness for a day, go fishing. If you want happiness for a year, inherit a fortune. If you want happiness for a lifetime, help somebody.”

Risk is vital for life otherwise; life is just a repeated cycle of wash, rinse, and repeat. If you are not as happy as you think you should be or could be, realize that boredom is the opposite of happiness, and gauge just how “bored” you are.

Thinking too much can become a bad habit where we are always focused on problems regardless of if they are real or not, and when we run out of those problems… we just create more.

You cannot predict when someone might peak at any time in any area of his or her life but to reach a summit and to refuse to grow from there or at least to grow in other areas is in my opinion akin to just “giving up.”

Goals enhance the quality of life. Man needs three things. Something to love, something to do, and something to believe in. Goals give our lives purpose and without purpose, why even get out of bed in the morning? Having a goal focuses you on what you need to do and a worthy goal will be something that you definitely believe in. Goals enable you to be passionate about life and a passionate life is a life well lived.

Your truth is your truth. Never allow anyone to project his or her fears, their failures, their mistakes, and their limitations upon you. That is their story… not yours.

When you complain, you strip away your own power to make decisions and to take action to CHANGE whatever it is that you are complaining about and make things better. When you complain, not only do you make yourself miserable, but you are probably annoying everyone around you as well and giving him or her something to complain about also!

Do you know what they call a half-hearted swing in baseball? Right… a bunt. Don’t just bunt your way through life; in everything that you do, always try to hit it out of the park. Work hard and commit yourself to what you’re trying to achieve.

The bottom line is this… don’t let anyone shoot down your dreams, don’t allow anyone to sabotage your success, and especially don’t be the one doing it to yourself!

Using the fear to be your guide as to what to do next as opposed to when to stop can open many new pathways and opportunities… if you let it. Use the fear instead of letting fear use YOU!

Every success is important, even the littlest ones because with each success, regardless of the size, your confidence will increase as well. More confidence, more risks, more success… it all builds off each other.

Life only works when you are a part of it. It is not a spectator sport where you get to sit on the sidelines and watch it all pass by. Life is a game, and it is a game that you can win, but only if you participate and play it yourself. So get in there and get at it!

To expand, grow, or to develop new skills, it will require you to be outside of your comfort zone but remember, in order for those new experiences, abilities or strengths to gel and set, you must return to your comfort zone now and again to regroup. Sometimes discovering your point of total-breakdown is a good thing as it shows you your limits, but to keep going there, in the long-term, will have negative – not positive impacts overall.

As humans, we are mostly conditioned to listen to what someone says, more often than not believe them – and then to expect what we are lead to believe based on their words to happen. If you find yourself bewildered between the two, watch what a person does to see if that is the truth rather than what they are saying.

Life rewards action and you don’t get to enjoy the journey when you’re tied up in fear.

When trying to accomplish anything and in the spirit of leaving no stone unturned during the process, never forget to ask for help when you need it to put the odds of success better in your favor…

Life is one-way trip and you can never go back no matter how hard you try or how much you want to. It just won’t happen. And if you find yourself stuck in life somehow and you are trying to figure out how to go back to a safer and easier time in life… stop it. Keep going forward remembering that the only way out is through.

So there you have it… my latest collection of thoughts pulled from my articles written mostly last year in 2015. Now to start mining for for the golden nuggets of 2016. I always joke but in all seriousness… There is a book (or a few) in here. And after all, what is a book anyway… just a huge collection of thoughts that tell a story.

Have a great weekend!
