From Thought To Result

In a meeting with a client the other day we discussed that action based solely on feeling is not typically the most productive way to go. It gave me to the opportunity to explain to my client the critical path between thought to result.

In a nutshell, thoughts create emotion or feeling, and feeling or emotion is usually what drives our actions which in turn creates results, either good or bad.

Starting in the middle of the process there are our emotions and feelings. But how often do we realize that feelings are just that, feelings, and they don’t mean anything past what meanings we choose to assign to them. Where we tend to get into trouble is when we have a feeling and we choose to act (or more precisely react) without much thought or consideration to the outcome or results.

But it is out thoughts that ultimately drive feelings. To put it simply… if you want to change the feeling you are experiencing… change your thought. It’s a simple as that. It might take practice and it might take time to master but it can be done.

Of course, when you change your feeling, or even take a second to think about what you are feeling you still have the option to ask yourself if you really want to take action or do anything or not. Or… Just think and ask yourself one of these two questions…

Is what I am about to say going to help the situation or hurt the situation?

Is what I am about to do going to help or hurt the situation?

Keep this in mind… you always have the ability to change the results that you experience in life. Change your thought, change your emotion, change you action or what you do or say, and your results will change as well. From thought to result, you control the outcome always.

Your thoughts become things, situations, or life events.  Choose your thoughts carefully.
