Getting Back On Point

getting back on pointIf you are regular reader of the Tri-Peaks Life Coaching Blog, you have no doubt noticed the lack of any new material these past three weeks. Life forced me to make some trade offs and put me into survival mode but now I am back and focused on getting back on point with everything.

Getting Back On Point

To be kind to you I will refrain from going into all of the details of the past month or so and why I had to stop writing the Monday before Christmas, but it came down to a few key decision making points.

I could have written stuff, sure, but would it have been any good or even worth reading? Maybe, maybe not, but I felt like anything that I might had written would at best been forced and at worst, completely uninspired and in turn, uninspiring.

Remember, I “riff” more than I write, but writing to just to create content that is unworthy is both unfair to the reader and ultimately to myself as it would not have the authentic flair that I believe I add to my articles.

So my mode of operation has been work with the clients I have, do the bare minimum to make it look like I was developing my running coaching business, and get my work done the four days each week that I was up on the mountain working; like I said, survival mode.

However, all of that is over and now everything is about me getting back on point this week and the first step in that, and for anyone for that matter, I believe is self-forgiveness.

Did I drop some balls the past three weeks? You had better believe it. Did I do my absolute best every day? Yes I did but at the same time knowing that my best those days was only the best I could muster THOSE days…

But the first step in getting back on point as I said, is self-forgiveness. Those three weeks are done and gone. Now it is time to move on and that is exactly what I am going to do.

My goals and objectives for the week have been written out and I am committed (re-committed) to achieving those and getting back on point, and by Friday, for the most part, having everything look the way they should…

So the second step to getting back on point is figuring out your next moves or action steps, creating a plan, and then committing to completely follow through with them.

As I like to say… life happens… and sometimes we get derailed. Maybe the holidays and all that comes with that hectic time of the year blew you off course as well and now in the second week of January, you find yourself drifting more then driving towards your desired goals in life. If that’s the case, that’s fine…

Take a moment to “let it go” and give yourself a pass before starting on your path anew. Come up with a plan, define what you need to do, and then fully commit to it. See your end-goal for this week or this month and vow to do whatever it takes to get there.

This week I am dedicated to getting back on point and if you are not as much on the bubble as you would like, I hope that you do the same. And if you need any help, please feel free to reach out and let’s come up with a solution together.
