Life Is Like Halloween

life is like halloween

Life is like Halloween… Halloween was my favorite holiday of the year and now that I am older, I still like Halloween and I really like how life is like Halloween if you stop and think about it…

Life Is Like Halloween

Life is like Halloween because just like Halloween it can be a little scary at times. But that little bit of scary is important because it is the opposite of being bored and being bored is the opposite of being happy!

And just like Halloween, life can be funny as well…

When I was a kid, my favorite part of Halloween was coming home, dumping out my bag of goodies, and seeing exactly what I got. Life is like Halloween because you never know what you are going to get from one house to the next… could be an apple or it could be your favorite candy bar.

But if you do not go out, or knock on any doors, you will not get a thing…

Another thing that I have always loved about Halloween is it is a chance to be something that you typically are not. It is a day of transformation if you will… But don’t we have that opportunity every day of our lives, to be different or to be a different (better) version of ourselves than we were before?

As I am older now, my experience of Halloween is different as I am in the position to give rather to receive. Now the fun comes more from making it special for others. And isn’t most of the joy in life derived by what we give rather than what we get?

Halloween for me has always had some resonance of magic to it… there just always seems to be something in the air that night that typically is absent the other 364 nights of the year…

But if you choose it to be so… life is like Halloween because every day you can see the magic that does exist in life. You just have to stop for a beat to witness it. As I like to say, “My life became magical the exact moment that I decided it was.”

Happy Halloween everyone! Have a safe and fun filled night!
