Never Waste A Day

never waste a dayNever waste a day – a week, a month, or a year. Whatever it is that you want to do… start NOW because every moment you waste not taking action or the steps to where you want to be is another moment that you are falling behind.

Never Waste A Day

At breakfast with a client this morning, we discussed and talked around the subject of procrastination versus just taking some time off from it all. My client is figuring out exactly what triggers his procrastination and why exactly he blows some things off.

Now mind you… as far as clients go… he is what I would certainly refer to as a high-flier… In his mid-thirties, he has never really taken a break in life, so we sort of see his little bouts of procrastination as him “acting out” the desire for a break.

However, he is different in the sense that he has never wasted a day in his entire life really. But our discussion got me thinking about myself and wasted time in general.

What about us who indefinitely procrastinate? What about us who have those great ideas that just remain great ideas in hour heads and nothing more? What about those of us who wait an inexplicable amount of time before putting our grand scheme in action?

Simple… never waste a day – start now! Start today…

When I was transitioning from my old career into creating my business, in a way I took about six months off where I was not really working at all. At least not working seriously… I was working with some clients, I was still working on finishing my year long coaching certification program, but overall, I was not doing much else besides training, running, and riding my mountain bike. It was 100% intentional, and time well spent nevertheless, but looking back I could have done so much more in that period than I actually accomplished.

Never waste a day? Well, I sort of wasted six months… maybe. Perhaps if I had applied myself more, and had devoted myself to this Blog more, worked on building the business more, I could be six months ahead of where I am now. It’s an interesting point that I ponder from time to time. I can’t say that I regret that little break as it was well needed as I made probably the largest transition in life that I had ever done… but still.

But as a life coach, and as for me as myself… I don’t dwell on the past or wallow in regret. Take the lesson, move on, and do better.

Never waste a day because every day that you waste is a day that you fall further behind the competition.

Never waste a day because every day that you waste just puts you a day away from reaching your goal.

Never waste a day because wasted days have a tendency to turn in to wasted days, weeks, months, years, decades, and in some cases, an entire life.

Never waste a day because the momentum of that day and the next is what ultimately propels you further and gets you closer to achieving your goals.

Start today whatever it is you need or want to do. Start that diet. Start going to the gym. Start walking around the block. Start looking for that new job. Start building your website. Start talking to potential customers and clients. Start writing that blog or book even… Start working on finding the relationship that you want instead of waiting for it to fall into your lap. Start working on the relationship that you have rather than hoping it will fix itself.

Never waste a day – start today… start now!
