Are You Problem Or Solution Focused?

Are you problem focused or solution focused“Why Do So Many Things Go Wrong?” Is that a question that you ask yourself frequently? Are you problem or solution focused when it comes to how you view life? Are you a whiner or you someone who actually fixes things when they are broken?

Are You Problem Or Solution Focused?

Many times in life, things just are or a situation just is before there is any conscious labeling applied on our parts. Where some may see nothing but a catastrophe, others may see a goldmine of opportunity. And how you see these things depends on if you are problem or solution focused.

One of the funny things that has always fascinated me is how often people can turn something anything into a problem. They wake up and it’s cloudy… that’s a problem… coffee is too hot/cold/warm/too much sugar/milk… that’s a problem as well…  And if it isn’t enough for them to focus on all the problems in their own life, they are also prone to finding issues with everyone else’s as well… how someone else dresses, how they behave, the things someone else likes etc.

Justified or not – everything deserves to be turned into a problem for those who are completely problem focused. People who turn most things into a problem often find them (create them) where they do not exist. Their perceptual lens is a problem-focused lens and all it ever sees are problems, period.

So after reading that… which do you think you are? Are you problem or solution focused?

Being more solution focused has its advantages. Those who are more solution focused tend to be willing to take risks in the face of the unknown. Instead of cowering in fear, holding back, or never truly expressing themselves, solution focused people also tend to be more authentic and real.

The secret of life is to live in each moment without reservation, hesitation or fear. When you are more solution focused, you are able to make the best out of any situation that might come up. And over time, as you focus more and more on those things that bring more to your life, not only solutions, but also what is right – that is never a problem… for you or for anyone else for that matter.

Focus on problems and that is what you are going to get but when you focus on solutions instead, you will be amazed at just how much easier life really is.

Are you problem focused or solution focused? Are you part of the problem or part of the solution?
