In my old neighborhood, there was an old man who was a widower. Nearly every day I would walk past his house walking my dog(s) and I always went out of my way to say hi and to check in on Mr. Murphy. And every day after talking to him he would thank me by saying… “Thank you for your kindness.”

Kindness is important, and Mr. Murphy knew that and just talking to him and taking the time to do that mattered to him and he appreciated it. For me it was a simple thing to do and no skin off my back and that is exactly what kindness is… it’s easy and damned near effortless so there is never an excuse for us to never be kind. Period.
