Do You Remember?

Do you remember when your imagination was limitless? Do you remember when anything and everything seemed possible?

Do you remember seeing the world through the eyes of child where everything was exciting and magical?

Do you remember being passionate about what you wanted to do with your life? Do you remember your dreams of being a firefighter, an astronaut, a ballerina or a doctor?

Do you remember laughing and smiling all of the time? Do you remember being happy just because you did not know any other way to be?

Do you remember loving your friends and family fully, unconditionally, and without limits?

Do you remember waking up and facing the day with nothing but excitement because there was so much to do? Do you remember that energy that you had and used from sunup to sundown each and everyday?

Is that how you live your life now? Do you see the world as a place of love, security, and opportunity, or do you only see the other side of things… the darkness, the fear, the limits?

News flash! The world didn’t change. You did.

I challenge you today to take a step back and to remember these things. I challenge you to question your beliefs and your perceptions of the world compared to when you were more innocent and had not become jaded by life.

I dare you to tell more people that you love them today, or at the very least do something that shows that you do without holding back.

Allow yourself to dream today, to use your imagination and envision a life that is everything that you could ever want. Forget everything else that you have done to this point that might make you feel locked into a certain position or career. Sit and dream as you did when you were a child.

Laugh and smile today as you one did. Don’t suppress it “just because.” Dance, sing, run, or go play. Move your body and tap into that energy.

Believe in yourself today. Trust yourself. Believe and trust in others as well. See the goodness in you and the world around you.

Life is tough at times and you have responsibilities now but it does not mean that you have to cut yourself off from the wonderment of it all.

Remember the purity, the simplicity and the joy of your younger days. Make a choice to feel and experience that again. Find something to be excited and passionate about today and don’t allow the world, or yourself, to tell you ‘No.”

All of this is still inside you under layers of years of dissatisfaction, disappointment, hurts and fears. Today I ask you to throw all of that away and to live today as if it were the most magical thing ever.

Because it is…
