The Upside To Challenges

The Upside To ChallengesChallenges… we all have them, they may be different for all of us but we do all have them. Do you allow the challenges in your life to derail you or do you look for the upside to challenges and press on?

Regardless of how you view your challenges in life, I have some bad news and some good news for you. First, your challenges in this lifetime are not over, that is the bad news. The good news is that your challenges in this lifetime are not over either! When your challenges end, it means that it is game over… Challenges are just a fundamental part of life – they are life!

The Upside To Challenges

There is the old saying that if it doesn’t challenge you it doesn’t change you. Each challenge that you face in life is an opportunity to do something different, an opportunity to make you stronger, wiser, and grow.

Challenges by themselves do not mean or signify that life “sucks” – actually, it is quite the opposite. Challenges do not keep you from being successful or happy; they just provide the contrast in life that tends to balance things out.

Without life’s challenges, you would never develop character. Without life’s obstacles you will never grow, evolve, or become stronger… The wisdom and the maturity that you possess today are the results of the challenges and the trials of your past.

I believe that challenges, more often than not, are simply opportunities in disguise. Many of life’s challenges come at us completely unexpected and when they do, they often loom large and seem intimidating at first. However, if you can remember that life’s challenges are the doorways to opportunities instead of road blocks, it will give you a new and empowering perspective on things.

Again, everyone has different challenges but they are often equally daunting and intimidating. The upside to challenges, regardless of whatever they may be is that your challenges do and will strengthen you. Your challenges are actually stepping stones and what builds character…

In closing, this quote sums up the upsides to challenges quite nicely…

“Struggles not only make us into stronger, better and wiser people, they also let us learn more about ourselves and our purpose in life.” – AI
