Which Voice Will You Listen To?

I don’t know about you but I have continuous and ongoing internal dialogues, ALL THE TIME! Of course, in those dialogues there are usually conflicting voices. One that raises me up as well as one that brings me down. Everyday I have to ask myself, “Which voice will you listen to today?”

Most of us have that inner chatter with many conflicting voices speaking to us at the same time, and not only that, probably the majority of voices are not grounded in the positive. In addition to our own voices, we may also still hear the echoes from the voices of others, which can influence our thoughts one way, or the other.

As it is important to THINK about what you are going to say or what you are going to any given situation or conversation with others, it is every bit as important to think and ask yourself which voice will you listen to?

Do you want to listen to the voice that says, “You can do it,” or the one that says, “You’ve got no chance pulling this off?”

Do you want to listen to the voice that says, “You’re valuable, you are worthy, and you are enough,” or the one that says, “You’ve got nothing to offer and you are not worthy?”

Will you allow yourself to listen to the voice that inspires you and says, “Keep trying,” or the one that says, “Give up and quit?”

Will you pay heed to the voice that says, “You can have an impact make a difference in the world,” or the one that says, “You are powerless so what’s the point?”

Can you congratulate and honor yourself with the voice that says, “Awesome job, you did great,” or will you minimize your accomplishments by listening to the one that says, “You could have done better… you should have done this instead… you did it all wrong?”

Most importantly, do you listen to the voice that says, “Life is awesome,” or to the one that says, “This sucks?”

You can choose if you wish to pause, to think, and then ultimately decide which voice you want to listen to at any time. Your words, even those spoken or heard inside your head have the power to create magic in you life, it’s up to decide then if the magic you wish to weave into your life is that of a positive or negative nature.

And just as it is important to be careful about which voice you are listening to; be careful about what you say to those around you lest your words become the negative echoes with the internal dialogues of others.

It’s up to you… Which voice will you listen to?
